Bullfrog Spas I-15 Billboard

Bullfrog Spas Billboard

Billboard design is tricky business.  The goal is to attract the attention of people speeding by at 70 MPH and explain to them who you are, what you have to offer, and why they should be interested in it.  This all needs to be done in a few quick seconds with as few words as possible in order to compete with everything else demanding attention from the potential customer driving the car.

In this design, the bright blue background and large “Relax” are the attention grabbers.  The identifying company logo sits directly beneath the tag line to maximize it’s realation to relaxation.  The “offer” portion is filled through the tag line of “Relax. With JetPaks”, showing that you can relax by spending time in a Bullfrog Spas hot tub.  The supporting imagery reinforces the tag line and visually communicates what we have to offer. As for why you should be interested in it… who doesn’t want a little relaxation?

2009 Bullfrog Spas Winter Shoot

I spent all day Friday in Ogden for an on location photo shoot for Bullfrog Spas.  Over the past few years Bullfrog has put together a large collection of product imagery, but we didn’t have anything from the winter months. During our fall photo shoot we decided that we would return to the same Ogden location once the snow fell so that we could expand our imagery collection even further. We hoped that the mountains that had served so well as a backdrop during the fall would be equally as impressive once they were covered in snow. The scenery didn’t disappoint. Here are a few of my favorites from the shoot…

Variations on a Leaf

I spent some time going through some of my past projects and came across one of my favorites.  It’s a piece called Variations on a Leaf.  The objective of the project was to create a series of designs based on a single element, in my case a maple leaf.  Once the original item was designed, it was to be cropped at different intervals to enhance different parts of the original element.  Color was added to the final cropping to add another dimension to the design.  The final designs were printed on ink jet photo paper and then mounted on black mat board. dimensions: 19.5″ x 14″.

Spa Accessory Flier

The Bullfrog Factory Showroom here in Bluffdale wanted me to design a flier to help promote a sale on spa accessories. The flier was designed to highlight the accessories being offered, as well as promote the fact that these three accessories are the most popular among current spa owners.   Specs: 8.5″ x 11″

Series I Control Panel Overlay

A few months ago I put up a post about the Bullfrog Spas Series II control panel Overlay. That control panel overlay is currently being used on all of Bullfrog’s Series II Spas.  We had planned to continue using an older design for the more expensive Series I line for 2009, but the opportunity came up to redesign that panel as well.  The design for the Series II control panel was well received and I was asked to redesign the Series I overlay using the same style and symbols I had used on my previous design.

Lights of Downtown SLC

I went downtown after work today in the hopes of catching a few sunset, dusk, and night shots around the city. The smog and haze took a lot of the clarity out of  the pictures and the image results were less than spectacular because of it. I was, however, pleased with these two  shots.

Photography in Logan and Heber

This past weekend I spent some time in both Logan and Heber City taking care of some errands.  It was a busy weekend, but I was able to spend a little time with the camera and take a few pictures.  Here are a few of the highlights…
